The Arts and Humanities Council: About Us
The Arts and Humanities Council was incorporated in 1991 as the Old Central Culture Council, Inc. We initially provided housing in the Yukon Museum and Arts Center for the Yukon Historical Society Museum; The Stage Door, Yukon's community theatre; the Yukon Art League; and Indian Education. Previous activities of The Arts and Humanities Council include sponsoring and producing The Nutcracker performed by the Yukon Civic Ballet and the Central Oklahoma Ballet; initiating Music Under the Stars, an outdoor summer music series; developing Drama in the Park, a summer theatre series; presenting an annual photography contest and exhibit; operating a fundraising Bizarre Bazaar; and providing scholarships to community youngsters.
